The All People’s Congress (APC) has clarified reports claiming that Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, single-handedly funded the printing of the party’s membership ID cards.
Speaking on Unity Broadcasting, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sidi Yayah Tunis, explained that contributions for the ID card printing were voluntary and collective, involving multiple party members, including flagbearer aspirants.
He dismissed claims that Jagaban was the highest contributor, stressing that no individual paid the full two billion leones. “It was not one person who did that,” Tunis said. “People were asked to contribute on a freewill basis, and flagbearer aspirants contributed for the printing of the cards in China.”
The clarification comes in response to reports suggesting that Jagaban had fully funded the ID card printing, which raised questions among party members and the public about transparency and fairness in the party’s internal processes.
Tunis emphasised that the APC maintains an open and transparent approach to funding party initiatives and that contributions from aspirants are part of a collective effort.
The statement aims to settle speculation around individual contributions and reinforces that party projects are supported collectively rather than by a single person.
