420 Blama Students Complete Kamara-Sponsored Summer School

A total of 420 students from St. Joseph’s Secondary School and Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School celebrated the completion of a comprehensive free summer school program during a closing ceremony on Friday, August 28, 2026. 

The event featured the presentation of certificates of completion to all participants, along with special awards for outstanding academic achievement across various subjects.

The educational initiative was established by Mrs. April Kamara as a personal effort to give back to the community and advance youth education. Speaking on her behalf, program facilitator Sheku Deen-Rogers emphasized that addressing basic needs was central to the program's design, with all participants receiving daily breakfast and lunch.

 According to Mr. Deen-Rogers, ensuring proper nutrition is vital to effective learning, reflecting a broader commitment to educational access that Mrs. Kamara and her husband, presidential candidate Mohamed Omodu Kamara, plan to expand nationally.

Beyond standard academic instruction, the curriculum incorporated dedicated modules on civics, moral education, and practical life skills. 

Participating students, including Umaru Kamara of St. Joseph’s and Daniella Juana of Ahmadiyya Muslim, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the holistic approach inspired greater academic focus and advocating for the permanent integration of these subjects into the formal school curriculum.
