The incitement case involving Mohamed Moriba, a senior politician affiliated with the All People’s Congress (APC), has once again been adjourned by Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2.
Moriba, who has made several appearances in court, continues to be denied bail as the prosecution advances its case. Authorities allege that his actions could threaten national stability, making this case a focal point in Sierra Leone’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and uphold the rule of law amid rising political tensions.
According to the police charge sheet, Moriba is accused of orchestrating a dangerous act of incitement on Saturday, December 27th, 2025. The state claims he created an audio and video clip containing provocative content from Kamalo Village in the Karina District, North-West Sierra Leone. The material was circulated via the TikTok account of Salone Gossip Hud and is believed to have been designed to incite unrest, chaos, and disorder across the country.
When the charges were formally read, Moriba did not enter a plea. Court proceedings were limited to a summary trial, with the defendant remaining silent on the allegations.
Defense Counsel C. Kamara Esq. requested a short adjournment to facilitate preparation for a bail application. However, Magistrate Fornah rejected the request, citing the gravity of the offense and the potential risk to public order. The magistrate emphasized that the seriousness of the charges justified remand. Moriba was subsequently remanded to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to April 2nd, 2026, for further proceedings, including the possibility of a bail application and additional investigation.
