The cyber incitement case against APC politician Mohamed Moriba was adjourned today at Pademba Road Court No. 2, Freetown, stemming from a procedural delay in the submission of a formal bail application.
Mr. Moriba, a former military officer and the All People's Congress Southern Province Public Relations Officer, appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah facing a single count of incitement contrary to law.
The prosecution alleges that on December 27, 2025, in Kamalo Village, North-East Province, the accused produced a video and audio clip containing content deemed inciting. This material, published on the 'Salone Gossip Hub' TikTok account, purportedly sought to provoke chaos, disorder, and civil unrest in Sierra Leone.
Following the reading of the charge, no plea was entered. The defense team, consisting of J.B. Sesay, C. Kamara, and M. Bangura, renewed their application for bail but informed the court that their lead counsel was unable to attend due to unforeseen vehicle issues. They requested a short adjournment to properly finalize and submit the bail application and ensure the matter proceeds effectively.
Magistrate Fornah granted the defense's request, scheduling the next hearing for March 3, 2026, to allow for the formal bail application and subsequent proceedings.
