Brotherhood Foundation Launches Le500,000 Initiative to Combat Drug Use with Skills Training and Financial Aid

The Brotherhood Foundation has unveiled a comprehensive initiative aimed at tackling widespread drug abuse by equipping individuals with valuable skills, enhancing their employability, and providing crucial financial support. The program seeks to divert young people from drug dependency towards productive futures.
Officially launched on Sunday 7th September at Fourah Bay, they organization has been in existence and helping people een before the launch.
Recognizing the pressing challenges of drug use, the Foundation announced plans to launch the Brotherhood Foundation Department Fund, effective immediately and continuing until the end of January. The ambitious goal is to raise 500 million Leone.
A spokesperson for the Foundation emphasized that this initiative is a direct response to the community's needs, expressing concern for the welfare of youth and their desire to foster positive change.
"We don't want to see them in the same situation, and we are not happy with what we see," he stated.
The Foundation, in collaboration with its donors, is committed to raising the 500 million Leone to implement diverse interventions. These include placing individuals in various centers for specialized training, supporting capital shops, and even facilitating entrepreneurial ventures such as purchasing "kenkeh" (a local food item) and motorcycles.
Prospective participants will undergo a six-month observation period. Those who successfully complete this phase by March 2026 will have their names announced and receive the necessary support to transform their lives.
The Foundation is currently compiling a list of individuals willing to commit to this transformative journey.
