Fassineh Kamara, 36, a civil engineer, appeared in court on allegations of killing Abdulai Kamara at a residence in the Western Area, with proceedings scheduled to continue later this month.
Kamara made his first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a serious charge of murder. The incident allegedly took place on October 24, 2025, at #47 Jenner Wright Road, Up Gun, in Freetown.
The charge is brought under the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, which has since been repealed and replaced by the Abolition of Death Penalty Act of 2021. Kamara did not enter a plea, as he is currently subject to a preliminary investigation.
Prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Ibrahim S. Mansaray informed the court that all relevant documents had been served to the defendant. Given the gravity of the offence, Magistrate Jah denied bail.
The case has been adjourned to November 27, 2025, for further proceedings.
