Court Hears Testimony from Sia Kamara's Sister in Kpaka Abuse and Murder Case

The court received emotional testimony on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from Christiana Kumba Kamara, the younger sister of the late Sia Fatu Kamara. She described her sister's relationship with the accused, Abdul Kpaka, as consistently abusive.

Kamara, the first prosecution witness, recounted that during disagreements, Kpaka would resort to verbal abuse and physical violence towards Sia. She also noted that her sister was romantically involved with Kpaka.

Testifying before Justice Alfred T. Ganda at High Court No. 2, the witness detailed the events leading up to her sister's death.

On the night of August 12, 2024, Kamara stated she waited in her sister's room while Sia bathed. During that time, Sia showed her a flight ticket for an upcoming business trip to the United States on September 3, 2024.

Later that evening, Kamara observed her sister leaving the house, stating she was going to meet Kpaka at his residence. Kamara spent the night in Sia's room. The following morning, at approximately 9:30 a.m., she received a distressing call from Kpaka, urging her to meet him at the Emergency Hospital.

Overcome with emotion, Kamara had to pause the proceedings multiple times to compose herself. The court was temporarily adjourned to allow her to recover.

Upon resuming, she recounted her arrival at the hospital, where she found her sister in critical condition. She described approaching Kpaka, who, in a distressed state, told her, “Christo, Una kill me wantem. Ar nor deserve for live,” meaning, “Christo, you guys should kill me now. I don’t deserve to live.” He repeated this plea twice.

Kamara explained that she attempted to speak with Kpaka about what had transpired but received no response. She then summoned relatives and their pastor to the hospital, where they prayed for Sia’s recovery. Despite their efforts, the nurses informed them that Sia had passed away.

She witnessed the arrival of Sia’s body, wrapped in white cloth, which was later unwrapped by their pastor. The pastor suggested taking the body home to pray for her revival. Kamara and others arranged for transportation to their house, where they observed injuries on Sia’s lips—a cut on the upper lip and blood on her lower lip.

Overcome with grief, Kamara struggled to continue her testimony, which was adjourned to July 16, 2025, for further proceedings.

The accused, Kpaka, faces charges of murder and perverting the course of justice. The court continues to hear evidence in this tragic case, which has drawn significant public attention.
