Cricket U-19 Men's World Cup Qualifier Africa Division 1

Kenneth Masinga, the newly hired cricket expert for Sierra Leone, has said that his Under-19 squad is ready and prepared to meet any opposition on any International stage.

Masinga's comments come after the team's warm-up match against Tanzanian Best on Wednesday, in preparations for the World cup qualifying matches. In the match, Sierra Leone batted first and scored 220 runs, with Salman Kazim Nasser top-scoring with 53 runs.

The bowlers also performed well, with Charles Kargbo taking 2 wickets.

However, Masinga was not entirely satisfied with the team's fielding, which he says is letting them down at times.

He also said that the team needs to improve their strike rate in order to give themselves a bigger target to defend.

Sierra Leone will face sub-regional brother Nigeria in their first match at the ICC U-19 Men's World Cup Qualifier Africa Division 1 Tournament in four days' time.

That encounter will mark one of five countries the Junior Patriots have been pitted against.
