A 23-year-old electrician has been remanded in custody following a court appearance on charges of wounding and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The defendant, Abdul Conteh, was arraigned before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8 on three counts of serious offences.

The charges against the defendant are: intentionally wounding another person, unlawfully wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, all under the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.

According to the particulars of the offence, it is alleged that on Monday, 24th November 2025, at #13 King Williams Street in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendant wounded Abubakarr Kamara with the intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

Counts Two and Three further stipulate that on the same date and at the same location, Mr. Conteh maliciously wounded and assaulted Mr. Kamara, resulting in actual bodily harm.

The defendant did not enter a plea, as the matter is currently at the stage of a preliminary investigation.

Magistrate Samura denied bail and ordered that Mr. Conteh be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown. The case has been adjourned until December 11th, 2025.
