Sierra Leone continues to advance its position in international football officiating, demonstrated by the commendable performance of its female referees during the WAFU U-20 Women’s Tournament 2026 in Guinea-Bissau.

FIFA center referee Aminata Fullah and assistant referee Agnes Gbla were appointed to officiate the inaugural fixture between the host nation, Guinea-Bissau, and Liberia. The officials exhibited exceptional composure, confidence, and requisite authority throughout the match, underscoring the improved caliber of refereeing within Sierra Leone.

This selection to manage a fixture of such prominence underscores the consistent advancement achieved under the guidance of Babadi Kamara and the Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association. Sustained commitment to capacity building and the development of women's football is effectively yielding international acknowledgment.

Notably, Aminata Fullah reached a significant milestone by being designated the official representative of refereeing for the tournament. Her image was prominently utilized across official training backdrops, referees’ informational documents, and promotional materials, thereby enhancing Sierra Leone's regional profile.

Despite Liberia securing a 2–1 outcome in the contest, focus remained substantially on the professionalism and distinction demonstrated by the Sierra Leonean officials. Their performance serves as a powerful demonstration of excellence, effective representation, and developmental progress, drawing widespread commendation from the football community.
