FC Zhetysu Taldykorgan secured a 2-1 victory, with a crucial assist from Saidu Fofanah setting up Mohamed Buya Turay's goal.
This marks an early impact for Turay, whose signing to the Kazakhstan Premier League club was officially announced in July.
Turay's journey to FC Zhetysu has seen him traverse various leagues in recent months. He joined the club following a brief stint with Nepal Super League club Kathmandu Rayzers.
Prior to his time in Nepal, Turay played for Birmingham Legion FC in the USL Championship from January 2024 until 2025.
