Gen-Z Summit 2026 to Bring Young Leaders Together in Freetown
Young leaders and young people from across Sierra Leone are expected to converge in Freetown for the Gen-Z Summit 2026, an initiative focused on strengthening youth leadership, civic engagement and skills development.
The summit is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Latter-day Saints Auditorium along Pipeline, Aberdeen Road, Freetown.
The event is being held under the theme, “Youths Matter: Work for Us, With Us, and Not Without Us.”
According to the organisers, the summit is designed to move beyond dialogue by equipping young people with practical skills and knowledge to participate meaningfully in leadership and national development processes.
The programme will focus on areas including leadership training, skills development, civic education and political participation.
The organisers said the summit will provide a platform for young people from diverse backgrounds to come together to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, build connections and explore ways of contributing to Sierra Leone’s development.
They said the initiative also seeks to inspire a new generation of leaders who are accountable, principled and committed to serving the people while contributing to sustainable national development.
The organisers further stated that the summit will create opportunities for young people to become more meaningfully involved in leadership and development processes, ensuring that their voices and contributions form an integral part of national development.
Young leaders, stakeholders and other interested members of the public are being invited to participate in the gathering, which organisers describe as an opportunity to strengthen the capacity and role of young people in Sierra Leone’s leadership and development.
