On September 4, 2025, Faala Town, the headquarters of Wandor Chiefdom, saw a significant infrastructure upgrade with the installation of ten integrated solar streetlights. This beneficial contribution was orchestrated by Honourable Mansaray, the Member of Parliament for Kenema District and a prominent figure in the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), in collaboration with Paramount Chief Larry Sao Bojohn Fangawa.

Paramount Chief Fangawa expressed deep appreciation for the timely and impactful donation. The solar lights are a crucial development for the people of Faala, he stated, clarifying that the initiative was a joint effort. Hon. Mansaray donated the ten lights through Councillor Patricia Fangawa, the Paramount Chief's elder sister, while the Paramount Chief provided the poles and transportation to the community. Community members further supported the project by supplying cement, stones, sand, and labor for the installation.

The positive effect of the donation was echoed by the town chief of Faala. These solar lights will make a big difference in the community's lives, he remarked. Residents will no longer have to worry about security and the risks of total darkness, and children will also be able to study and do their homework in the evenings.

Hon. Mansaray explained his motivation for the donation, emphasizing that lighting challenges were consistently raised during consultations with his constituents. He is committed to improving the lives of his people, he affirmed. Access to reliable and affordable lighting is essential for security, social life, education, healthcare, and economic development. He is hopeful that these solar lights will make a positive impact on the community.

Just ten months into his tenure as Paramount Chief of Wandor, PC Larry Fangawa's unwavering commitment to his chiefdom has been widely recognized, with many describing his leadership as inclusive and dedicated to service. September 28 of this year will mark his one-year anniversary as Paramount Chief.

This initiative aligns with Hon. Mansaray’s broader development agenda to illuminate his constituency using simple, low-tech solar power, in line with the government’s commitment to the Tech and Infrastructure pillar, one of the "big five game changers."
