Inter-MDA Football Gala 2025 Kicks Off at National Stadium Practice Field

The maiden edition of the Inter-Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA) Football Gala 2025, organized by the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Authority (NSA), officially commenced on Saturday, 18th October 2025, at the National Stadium Practice Field in Freetown.


The opening match featured the host team Ministry of Sports/National Sports Authority against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The event was witnessed by several top government officials, including the Head of the Civil Service, Prince Cole, who performed the official kick-off alongside the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Swalihu Jusu.


The match ended with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs securing a 2–1 victory over the host team.


Captain of the Ministry of Sports team and Executive Director of the NSA, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, congratulated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on their win and encouraged his teammates to stay focused ahead of their next fixture against Audit Service Sierra Leone on Thursday, 22nd October 2025.


In his post-match remarks, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Alhaji Timothy Musa Kabba, attributed his team’s success to teamwork and coordination, saying, “Diplomacy connects; football unites.”


Meanwhile, today’s fixtures at the National Stadium Practice Field are as follows:


Electricity Generation and Transmission Company (EGTC) vs. Immigration Department - 4:00 p.m.


Human Rights Commission vs. Office of the Vice President - 5:30 p.m.
