Kailahun District Boosts Community Policing Through New Partnership Initiative
The Local Police Partnership Board (LPPB) of Kailahun District has launched a strategic engagement initiative with Community Safety Volunteers (CSVs) to bolster local policing efforts, improve public safety, and foster deeper collaboration between the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the communities they serve.
The recent engagement highlighted the critical functions of CSVs in supporting law enforcement, particularly in areas of crime prevention, intelligence sharing, and conflict resolution.
During the session, the importance of maintaining peace and security throughout the district was emphasized as a shared responsibility requiring trust and active citizen participation.
Mr. Senesie Kovoma, FSU line manager at the Pendembu Police Station and Chairman of the CSVs for Upper Bambara Chiefdom, addressed the volunteers, urging them to maintain a strong and collaborative working relationship with the Sierra Leone Police.
Participants were encouraged to uphold standards of professionalism and impartiality in their duties.
By strengthening these community ties, the LPPB aims to ensure a more secure and resilient district through unified efforts.
