The High Court sitting in Kailahun Town has sentenced Samai Lansana to life imprisonment for the murder of his stepfather.

The judgment was delivered on November 6, 2025, by Hon. Justice Abdul Sheriff of the Kenema and Kailahun Judicial Districts.

According to State Counsel Daniel P. Mansaray, the incident occurred on September 11, 2023, at Bandajuma Village in Luawa Chiefdom, Kailahun District, Eastern Province, when Samai Lansana fatally attacked his stepfather.

In delivering the verdict, Hon. Justice Sheriff highlighted the aggravating nature of the offence, noting that the crime was deliberate and deeply impactful on the victim’s family and community.

The life sentence underscores the judiciary’s commitment to upholding justice for serious offences and serves as a warning against violent crimes in Sierra Leone.
