In a turn during court proceedings on Monday, August 18, 2025, musician Amara Dennis Turay, widely known as Kao Denero, was publicly admonished by the complainant’s lawyer, Madieu Sesay, regarding his social media conduct. The stern warning followed revelations that the defense had proposed a private settlement for the ongoing case.
Sesay specifically cautioned Kao Denero against making "unnecessary posts on social media," referencing the recent public outcry surrounding his SLE 50,000 bail in a previous session. He condemned the defendant for distorting facts, and for attacking media outlets and bloggers who reported on the matter.
Magistrate Adama Kandeh, presiding over Magistrate Court No. 4, echoed the sentiment, advising Kao Denero to cease such social media activity and noting that she is actively monitoring his online presence.
In response, defense lawyers, led by A. Kamanda, requested a two-week adjournment to facilitate out-of-court settlement discussions. However, Madieu Sesay advocated for a shorter delay, leading the court to adjourn the case to August 28, 2025.
The court's admonishment underscores the imperative of responsible communication by the accused as the case, involving charges of incitement and intimidation stemming from events at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in February, continues to unfold.
