The Eastern Regional Police Command and the Second Infantry Battalion in Kenema have significantly escalated joint operations, effectively designating the region as a zero-tolerance zone for crime, drug trafficking, and general lawlessness.

Under the leadership of the newly assigned Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Francis Brima Meinday and Local Unit Commander (LUC) Chief Superintendent Bob Musa N. Mansaray, the security apparatus is demonstrably restoring public trust through rigorous patrols and decisive enforcement actions.

Verified reports confirm that the combined police and military unit has initiated a series of high-impact operations specifically targeting organized drug networks, habitual criminals, and individuals facilitating corruption across Kenema District and surrounding areas.

These operations have resulted in the apprehension of numerous drug distributors and traffickers, including individuals reportedly comprising former security personnel and influential business figures. These arrests are integral to a comprehensive strategy aimed at dismantling the supply chains responsible for the proliferation of "kush," Tramadol, and other illicit substances that have adversely affected the Eastern Region.

In a statement, AIG Francis Brima Meinday reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to re-establishing peace, order, and security throughout Kenema and the wider region. He stressed the full operational synergy between the police and the Second Infantry Battalion, asserting that they will afford “no sanctuary for criminals or those enabling illicit activities.”

LUC Bob Musa N. Mansaray added that both daytime and nighttime patrols have been substantially increased, characterizing the ongoing initiative as an “unrelenting mission to ensure Kenema's sustained security.” He highlighted that the integration of intelligence-led policing strategies and strengthened community partnerships has been crucial to enhancing the efficacy of law enforcement within the district.

The renewed efforts have garnered positive feedback from residents, who have commended the security leadership for their visible presence and rapid response capabilities, describing the operation as a “significant step forward in the battle against narcotics and insecurity.”

As these joint security operations persist, Kenema is steadily reclaiming its status as one of Sierra Leone’s most secure districts. The decisive and ongoing crackdown delivers a clear message to potential offenders: criminal activity, substance abuse, and disregard for the law will not be tolerated under the joint command of AIG Meinday, LUC Mansaray, and the Second Infantry Battalion.
