Robin Cole, a labourer, has been sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment at the Freetown Male Correctional Facility. Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No. 8 delivered the verdict on charges of larceny, pursuant to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the case details, on Saturday, July 4th, 2025, at Martin Street in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly stole two mobile phones, specifically an HTC and an iPhone 8 Plus, with a combined value of 7,500 Leones. These devices belonged to Isha Abu Bangura.
Upon the reading and explanation of the charge, Robin Cole entered a guilty plea. Prosecutor Inspector Amadu Ahmed Sillah informed the court that the accused had no prior criminal record. Both the voluntary caution statement and the charge statement from the accused were duly produced and admitted as part of the court records.
The accused, who was not represented by legal counsel, petitioned the court for leniency, appealing for mercy from the Magistrate. Taking into account his plea and the presented mitigation, Magistrate Samura sentenced Robin Cole to twelve months' imprisonment at the Freetown Male Correctional Facility.
