Luawa FC climbed four places in the Leone Rock Premier League standings after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Abacha City in Matchweek 23 at the Approved School field.
The lone goal of the match came in the 33rd minute, when Richard Bockarie capitalized on a perfectly timed assist from Mohamed Kargbo to break the deadlock. Following the opener, Luawa FC nearly doubled their advantage before halftime, with Kargbo’s effort striking the post, while Abacha City struggled to create meaningful chances.
The second half saw Abacha City attempt a revival, pressing forward in search of an equalizer. However, Luawa FC’s defense held firm, maintaining their early lead until the final whistle.
The win lifts Luawa FC from 18th to 14th place on the league table, overtaking Bullom Stars, who now sit 15th. Abacha City, meanwhile, drop to 17th and remain in the relegation zone.
Looking ahead, Luawa FC will face Mighty Blackpool away at the SLFA Academy in Matchweek 24 on Sunday, 12th April 2026, while Abacha City hosts Wusum Stars at the Approved School field on Tuesday, 14th April 2026.
