Madam Aminata Bangura Cleared to Contest for SLFA Presidency

In a pivotal ruling, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has cleared Madam Aminata Bangura to participate in the upcoming Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Presidential election. This decision comes just days ahead of the SLFA Elective Congress, set for August 2, 2025, in Lungi.

Madam Bangura's reinstatement is a critical development, restoring fairness and democratic integrity to the electoral process. Justice Alfred Ganda delivered the verdict on July 29, 2025, at High Court Number 2 in Freetown, ordering the applicants to pay costs of 240,000 Leones.

Brima faced exclusion due to allegations of passport forgery, while Bangura was disqualified over claims of providing false information to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
