Mohamed Jalloh, known as Makadunka, has been appointed to Basketball England’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Basketball England, the sport's national governing body in England, announced his selection after a successful interview and recruitment process.
The reality star, basketball player, coach and committee member relocated to the United Kingdom less than seven years ago, expressed his elation to this platform.
Makadunka stated that the EDI Committee was formed to engage with communities and ensure the sport's accessibility and fairness at all levels, whether in playing, coaching, officiating, volunteering, or leadership roles.
He added that he would also serve on the EDI Leadership and Collaboration subcommittees, working with others to create a game where everyone feels they belong.
He emphasized that basketball has always represented more than just on-court activities, highlighting its role in strengthening communities, offering opportunities, and giving people a voice.
Makadunka expressed his honor at being in a position to influence, contribute to, and support policies aimed at making basketball in England a more equal, diverse, and inclusive environment for all, concluding with a call to drive change collaboratively.
