The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially announced the determinations of its FA Cup Disciplinary Committee following the cessation of the Orange FA Cup 2026 quarterfinal match between Star Sport Academy and East End Lions FC.

The fixture, held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the SLFA Academy Field, was halted in the 86th minute following reported acts of violence, pitch encroachment, and general disorder involving personnel associated with both participating clubs.

Based on a thorough review of match reports, witness testimonies, and video evidence, the Committee issued the following sanctions:

  • Star Sport Academy: The club forfeits the match, confirming the 2–1 scoreline in favor of East End Lions FC as the final result. A fine of NLe 5,000 was imposed on the club for the incident.

  • Individual Sanctions (Star Sport Academy): Samba Kanu (also known as Offie), an individual associated with the club, received a six-match suspension and an NLe 8,000 fine for inciting the disturbance. Players Abdul Budu Kamara and Abu Bakarr A. Kamara were each suspended for three matches and fined NLe 2,000 for their involvement in violent conduct during the chaotic scenes.

  • East End Lions FC: The club was fined NLe 5,000 after being found responsible for failing to manage and control its supporters, who were reportedly involved in disruptive actions.

The SLFA unequivocally condemned all instances of violence and breaches of discipline within football, cautioning that future misconduct by clubs or individuals may lead to significantly harsher penalties, including potential exclusion from competitions.

Participation in subsequent official fixtures is contingent upon the payment of all outstanding fines by the affected clubs.
