Mighty Blackpool and Bullom Stars played out a dramatic 2-2 draw at the SLFA Academy on Friday in a tense Match Week 31 fixture that did little to ease pressure on either side in the relegation battle.
The first half was tightly contested, with both teams adopting a cautious approach and few clear-cut chances created. Blackpool came closest in the 35th minute when Umarr Jalloh struck the bottom of the left-hand post, with the ball bouncing wide after beating the goalkeeper.
The second half, however, produced a flurry of action, with goals, bookings, and end-to-end attacking play turning the match into a thriller.
Bullom Stars broke the deadlock in the 50th minute through Sulaiman Turay, who curled a free-kick over the wall and into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Mighty Blackpool responded eight minutes later when a loose pass from Saidu Yillah fell to Umarr Jalloh outside the box. The midfielder unleashed a powerful strike from 20 yards to level the score at 1-1.
The lead shifted again in the 84th minute as Bullom Stars regained advantage. Sulaiman Turay turned provider from a corner kick, delivering a precise ball for Ibrahim K. Turay, who rose highest to head home for a 2-1 lead.
Bullom Stars appeared set for victory, but Mighty Blackpool produced a late response deep into stoppage time. In the 90+4th minute, Patrick Turay struck a stunning right-footed volley into the roof of the net to rescue a dramatic 2-2 draw.
The result leaves Mighty Blackpool in 11th place with 37 points, while Bullom Stars remain 13th with 33 points, still within the relegation zone.
Both sides will feel they dropped valuable points as the league season enters its final and decisive stretch, where every result carries significant weight.
