The Minister of Works and Public Assets has formally questioned Chief Director and Professional Head of the Ministry, Ing. Bockarie, instructing him to take immediate leave pending a thorough administrative review. The directive, issued today, cites several "serious administrative, professional, and ethical issues" concerning Ing. Bockarie.

The immediate cause of the inquiry reportedly arose from Ing. Bockarie's conduct, specifically his refusal to properly manage a mobile device during a Leadership Meeting on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.

His mishandling of the device led to a demand from the minister for its surrender, which was denied until the permanent secretary of the ministry intervened.

The Minister characterized this as "a blatant act of insubordination and a direct challenge to ministerial authority."

However, the Ministry stated that this incident is only the latest in a series of significant issues that have "collectively undermined confidence in [Ing. Bockarie's] leadership and cast doubt on his continued suitability" for the position.

The formal communication detailed several specific reasons for the decision: instigation of staff misconduct, procurement irregularities related to Presidential Lodge Projects, improper allocation of government land at Bell-Air Park, persistent leadership and performance deficiencies, unauthorized representation on international assignments, irregular appointments to technical committees, defamation and circulation of misinformation, failure to submit credentials for verification, and gross irregularities in the vetting and approval of Bills of Quantity (BoQs).

Given the "scope and severity of the above misconducts," the Ministry determined it "essential" to relieve Ing. Bockarie of active duty.

He has been instructed to fully cooperate with any further inquiries or investigative actions resulting from this review.
