Marie Stopes Sierra Leone Launches Ultra Modern Lamina Sankoh Centre Ahead of 40th Anniversary
Ahead of its milestone 40th anniversary, Marie Stopes Sierra Leone (MSSL) has officially opened the Lamina Sankoh Centre, a brand new, ultra modern health facility designed to drastically improve access to comprehensive healthcare services under one roof.
The cutting-edge facility marks a major expansion in MSSL's capacity to deliver critical medical care, offering an extensive range of specialized and general services.
The grand opening ceremony featured a keynote presentation titled "40 Years of Impact," delivered by Mohamed Kabba, the Country Director of Marie Stopes Sierra Leone.
During his address, Kabba took the audience through a journey of MSSL’s rich history in the country, highlighting key milestones, pioneering healthcare initiatives, and landmark achievements that have defined the organization's legacy.
Kabba also shared inspiring, life-changing stories from clients whose lives have been impacted by MSSL’s services over the last four decades.
He extended deep gratitude to the dedicated staff, partners, and stakeholders whose unwavering contributions have shaped the organization into a cornerstone of Sierra Leone's healthcare landscape.
In a press statement, MSSL marked their new achievement and expressed a shared hope.
This Centre is proof that the people of Sierra Leone deserve world-class healthcare and that we will not stop building until every woman, every girl, and every family can access it.
The opening of the Lamina Sankoh Centre stands as a testament to MSSL's enduring commitment to maternal and reproductive health, promising to usher in a new era of accessible, high quality healthcare for thousands of Sierra Leoneans.
The centre will provide family planning, maternal health services, cervical cancer screening, breast health services, and ultrasound imaging. In addition, the facility features advanced laboratory diagnostics, full pharmacy services, general medical consultations, and streamlined access to health insurance.
