Sierra Leonean international Mustapha Bundu scored the opening goal for Plymouth Argyle in their 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday night. The 23-year-old midfielder struck a superb free-kick into the top corner of the net in the 44th minute, and he went on to have an influential performance as Argyle recorded their first win in five games.
Bundu, who joined Argyle from Forest Green Rovers in the summer, was delighted to score his first goal for the club.
Bundu also praised the Argyle fans for their support. "The fans were amazing tonight," he said. "They really got behind us and they helped us to get the win. I'm so grateful for their support."
Argyle manager Steven Schumacher was also impressed with Bundu's performance.
"Mustapha was excellent tonight," he said. "He scored a great goal and he worked really hard all night. I'm really pleased with him and I'm sure he's going to be a big player for us this season."
