NASSIT Reinforces Partnership with Eastern Regional Police

The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) has reinforced its institutional partnership with the Eastern Regional Police Command following a strategic courtesy visit by its newly transferred Eastern Regional Manager, Mr. Sovula B. Saffa, to the Regional Police Headquarters in Kenema on Monday, January 27, 2026.
The engagement, which brought together senior officials of NASSIT and the Sierra Leone Police, was aimed at strengthening collaboration, enhancing operational coordination, and fostering cordial working relations between the two institutions in the Eastern Region.
Mr. Saffa, accompanied by members of the Regional Tasking and Coordination Group (TCG), was received by the Deputy Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mohamed Morie Kamara, the Local Unit Commander (LUC) Kenema Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Emmanuel Kpulun, and other senior officers.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Saffa expressed appreciation to the police leadership for the warm reception and reaffirmed NASSIT’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the Sierra Leone Police to ensure effective service delivery to contributors and beneficiaries.
He underscored the importance of close collaboration in areas such as staff welfare, security of NASSIT operations, and public sensitization on social security benefits, noting that a strong partnership with the police is essential for institutional efficiency and public trust.
Mr. Saffa further assured the police command of his open-door leadership approach and readiness to support lawful initiatives that promote peace, security, and development across the Eastern Region.
In response, ACP Mohamed Morie Kamara congratulated Mr. Saffa on his appointment and commended NASSIT for proactively engaging security stakeholders. He described the visit as timely and strategic, emphasizing that strengthened cooperation between the police and NASSIT would enhance operational effectiveness and mutual understanding.
ACP Kamara assured NASSIT of the unwavering support of the Eastern Regional Police Command, stressing their continued commitment to providing a secure environment for NASSIT personnel, facilities, and operations throughout the region.
Similarly, CSP Emmanuel Kpulun welcomed the new Regional Manager and applauded his initiative to personally engage regional and divisional police leadership, describing the move as a demonstration of professionalism and respect for institutional partnership.
He assured that the Kenema Division would continue to work closely with NASSIT in safeguarding its offices, staff, and clients, while promoting public confidence in state institutions.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the Regional Police Command, the Regional Police Commander, Eastern Region, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Francis Brima Meinday, expressed profound appreciation to Mr. Saffa for the courtesy call, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening cooperation between the two institutions.
AIG Meinday assured NASSIT of the full support of the Regional Police Command, emphasizing that the police remain committed to maintaining a safe and enabling environment for NASSIT’s operations and the general public.
The engagement concluded with a mutual exchange of goodwill messages and a renewed commitment to sustaining strong collaboration between NASSIT and the Sierra Leone Police for the benefit of the people of the Eastern Region.
The visit marks Mr. Saffa’s first official engagement with regional security leadership since assuming office and signals a positive and strategic beginning to his tenure as NASSIT Regional Manager for the Eastern Region.
