New Traffic Officer Enhances Road Safety in Ngaiya Town

In a proactive move to bolster road safety and community relations, the newly appointed Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO) of Motema Division, Inspector Sia Linda Gborie, conducted a high-priority engagement session with bike riders and local stakeholders in Ngaiya Town on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
The outreach initiative is a core component of the Division’s strategy to strengthen preventive policing and establish a robust partnership between law enforcement and the public. The discussions centered on the critical importance of responsible road usage and the collaborative efforts required to mitigate traffic accidents.
Addressing a diverse group of motorists and pedestrians, Inspector Gborie issued a formal call for strict adherence to traffic regulations. She specifically urged bike riders and motor drivers to eliminate reckless driving behaviors and maintain mutual respect for all road users. Pedestrians were also advised to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with traffic personnel to ensure a safer environment for the community.
"Road safety is a shared responsibility that cannot be achieved by the Police in isolation," Inspector Gborie stated.
She emphasized that bike riders are essential partners in the policing framework, encouraging them to report suspicious activities and safety concerns promptly.
Supporting the DTO during the session, the Media and Community Relations Officer, Thompson Peter Ndapi, highlighted that continuous dialogue and preventive measures are the most effective tools for fostering long-term public safety.
Mr. Chenor Barrie, Chairman of Ngaiya Park, expressed his gratitude for the police intervention, characterizing the engagement as both timely and essential. He reaffirmed the commitment of the park’s leadership and its members to support law enforcement in maintaining order and preventing crime.
The session concluded with a consensus among the police, bike riders, and motor drivers to maintain regular communication channels, ensuring a sustainable partnership dedicated to responsible road use and public security.
