Mohamed Moriba, a politician affiliated with the All People's Congress (APC) party, appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No.2 on a charge of incitement, a contravention of current law.

The police charge sheet alleges that Mr. Moriba created and disseminated an audio and video clip containing content intended to provoke violence and public unrest within Sierra Leone.

Specifically, the police contend that on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Kamalo Village, Karina District, North-West Province, Mr. Moriba produced and distributed the clip via the TikTok account "Salone Gossip Hud." The content is further alleged to have been created with the intent to precipitate disorder, chaos, and national unrest.

No formal plea was entered by the defendant during today's proceedings. Counsel C. Kamara, Esq., representing Mr. Moriba, requested a brief adjournment to explore the possibility of securing bail for his client.

Magistrate Fornah denied the bail application, however, citing the gravity of the offense and the potential risk to public order. Mr. Moriba was subsequently remanded to the Male Correctional Center in Freetown.

The matter has been adjourned to March 10, 2026, for the continuation of proceedings.
