President Bio Meets Leone Stars, Calls for Focus on Future Tournaments

President Julius Maada Bio has met with the Leone Stars at Sea Bird Express, Lungi, commending the national football team for their performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Sierra Leone secured a 2-1 victory over Djibouti in their final qualifying match held on Sunday in Casablanca, Morocco, a result that has been celebrated by fans across the country.

During the meeting, President Bio encouraged the players and team officials to reorganize and focus on strategies that would improve their chances of qualifying for future international tournaments.
He also promised further engagement with the Leone Stars to discuss how the team can enhance performance and how the government can provide continued support to boost Sierra Leonean football.

Addressing the players and officials, President Bio commended their efforts while also challenging them to strive for even greater achievements in upcoming competitions.
“Let’s reorganize for future tournaments,” President Bio told the team, emphasizing the importance of preparation, teamwork, and national pride.
