Procurement Systems Upgraded with New Digital Modules

The National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) has officially launched its new Procurement Requisition and Publication Modules as part of the Sierra Leone Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP-SL) System. The launch event took place on June 7, 2026, at the Authority’s headquarters on OAU Drive, Tower Hill.

Supported by the World Bank, this initiative marks a major milestone in Sierra Leone's public procurement reform agenda. The introduction of these modules is designed to transition government procurement away from traditional paper-based methods toward a more streamlined and efficient digital ecosystem.

The new system aims to foster greater transparency, efficiency, and fairness in the allocation of public contracts. By automating requisition and publication processes, the e-GP-SL framework will provide real-time tracking, minimize bureaucratic delays, and open government bidding processes to a broader, more competitive pool of suppliers.

The NPPA's move toward electronic procurement aligns with national development strategies intended to curb corruption, ensure better value for public money, and foster sustainable economic development through digital transformation.
