Pujehun Reviews Development Projects at 28th DDCC Meeting

The Pujehun District Council, with support from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, has concluded its 28th District Development Coordination Committee (DDCC) meeting, bringing together government institutions, development partners, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to review ongoing projects, address implementation challenges and strengthen coordination.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the Pujehun District Council Hall, focused on preventing duplication of development efforts, prioritising deprived and riverine communities, and improving service delivery across the district.

Chief Administrator Joseph A. T. Gando urged NGOs, INGOs and other development partners to coordinate their activities through the council, while prioritising vulnerable communities and ensuring that development interventions align with local needs.

Council Chairman Foday Kandeh Rogers said the meeting provides an opportunity for stakeholders to report on their achievements, challenges and lessons learnt, while identifying practical ways to improve development outcomes.

Meanwhile, Eric Massalay, Director of NGO Affairs at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, encouraged development partners to participate in sectoral meetings and ensure their organisations are properly registered with the ministry.

Civil Society Forum Chairman Emmanuel Fawundu described the meeting as an accountability platform for monitoring service delivery and called on the council to undertake sustainable projects that would benefit the people of Pujehun District.

The meeting concluded with presentations from NGOs and government ministries, departments and agencies on their activities, achievements and planned interventions.
