In a robust and interagency initiative to combat the escalating challenge of KUSH, TRAMADOL, and other illicit narcotics, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), in collaboration with allied security forces, Civil Society Organizations, educational institutions, and the coordinating body, the Coalition Against Drug Abuse and Community Transformation (CADacT- SL), has launched a comprehensive anti-drug campaign across Kenema City.
During the launch ceremony, the Local Unit Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Bob Musa Naslic Mansaray, emphasized that the campaign's core objective is to significantly enhance public awareness regarding the severe risks associated with substance abuse. He reiterated the Police's unwavering commitment to aggressive enforcement against drug-related offenses, underscoring that community security is contingent upon collective vigilance and sustained law enforcement efforts.
The Regional Police Commander East, Mr. Francis Brima Meinday, delivered a concise and potent address. He highlighted recent operational successes, including major arrests and successful raids, noting that these achievements are a direct result of ongoing operational synergy among security agencies and community stakeholders. Commander Meinday stressed the critical necessity of public education on the societal and personal consequences of drug misuse and called for a unified and resolute long-term effort in narcotics control.
This campaign underscores the SLP's steadfast dedication to public protection. The police strongly encourage all citizens to promptly report any suspected drug activities and to actively participate in safeguarding the future well-being of the region.
Through proactive cooperation and community engagement, Kenema affirms its collective resilience against harmful drugs.
