Security Personnel Testifies in Alleged Generator Theft at Spur View Estate

Moses Kamara, a security officer stationed at Spur View Estate, appeared before the court to provide testimony regarding the alleged theft of a 5KVA generator from the premises.

During his testimony, Kamara identified the defendant, Abdul Fofanah, as a fellow employee of the security firm contracted to protect the estate.

The witness recounted that he was first alerted to the missing equipment via a telephone call from a colleague identified as Santos. Following the report, Kamara later spotted the defendant at Portee Junction on the same day.

According to Kamara, Fofanah became resistant when confronted, necessitating a call for backup. Personnel from the Operations Support Division (OSD) arrived on the scene to assist, leading to the defendant’s apprehension and subsequent transfer to the Lumley Police Station.

The court heard that an official report was filed and a formal statement was obtained from the witness to support the investigation.

Appearing before Magistrate Jah, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read and explained to him.

The prosecution is being led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Eric A. Deen.

Citing the gravity of the offense, Magistrate Jah denied bail and remanded the defendant. The proceedings have been adjourned until August 17, 2026, for further hearing.
