The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced plans to organize a National Youth League, which is set to commence next month. The league will be open to all youth teams in the country and will be organized into different categories.
The SLFA is currently developing a calendar for the league, which is expected to start in October. Acting Secretary General Mohamed Benson Bawoh has been holding strategic meetings with the FA's Executive Committee to discuss the league, and the SLFA is working with districts and regional bodies to launch the league.
The Youth Coordinator, Alimamy K. Conteh has also noted that the current License B Coaching Course is geared towards restructuring the youth game.
The league is expected to provide a platform for young players to showcase their talents and develop their skills. It is also expected to help to improve the standard of football in Sierra Leone.
