SLFA Referees Department Intensifies Preparations Ahead of New Season

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Referees Department has stepped up its preparations for the upcoming football league season by conducting a comprehensive one-day training seminar for match officials across the country.
The intensive program brought together referees for intensive practical and theoretical modules, structured to evaluate officiating readiness and sharpen tactical understanding ahead of the new campaign.
A central component of the session involved rigorous physical fitness assessments to ensure all participating officials meet the demanding cardiovascular and athletic standards required for top-tier competitive football.
In addition to field work, participants attended interactive classroom lectures focused on advanced match management techniques, conflict resolution, and the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game.
The sessions were led by SLFA Referees Manager Sanusie Rashid alongside Daudu Williams, Vice Chairman of the SLFA Referees Committee, both of whom offered expert technical direction and practical guidance throughout the training.
This training initiative is part of a broader continuous development framework by the Referees Department to elevate officiating standards, enhance decision-making consistency, and instill confidence in match leadership.
As kickoff approaches, the SLFA plans to maintain its momentum in referee development to safeguard the integrity, fairness, and overall quality of Sierra Leonean football across all division levels.
