In a highly anticipated clash at the Approved School Field on Sunday, Star Sport Academy reinforced their credentials as league frontrunners with a 2–0 victory over FC Kallon. The win further cemented their position atop the Sierra Leone National Premier League in the 2025/26 season.
The match began at a high tempo, with FC Kallon eager to exploit their home advantage. However, Star Sport Academy’s tactical discipline and sharp finishing soon tilted the contest in their favor.
Sheka Sesay opened the scoring, capitalizing on a brief defensive lapse to give the visitors an early lead. Despite FC Kallon’s determined attempts to respond, the Academy’s defensive structure remained solid, frustrating “The Cavaliers” throughout.
The victory was sealed when Alie Ramadan Kabia doubled the lead in the second half, converting a well-orchestrated attacking move that silenced the home crowd and ensured all three points returned with the league leaders.
This result has significant implications for the top of the table. Star Sport Academy now leads with 22 points, creating a comfortable gap over their nearest challengers, including Bai Bureh Warriors. Meanwhile, FC Kallon’s inconsistent form has left them in fourth place, seven points behind the summit.
For FC Kallon, this defeat marks their third loss of the season, following a strong start with three consecutive wins. The Cavaliers will now look to regroup ahead of their next fixture against Wilberforce Strikers on January 14.
Star Sport Academy continues to demonstrate a blend of tactical maturity and attacking potency, making them a formidable contender for the league title. Their ability to secure maximum points away from home against established sides sends a strong warning to rivals: the race for the 2025/26 championship is firmly in their hands.
