A 21-year-old student, Dennis Fofanah, who is facing charges of housebreaking and larceny, was granted bail on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Pademba Road Court in Freetown.
Fofanah was arraigned before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on a single count of housebreaking and larceny, a violation of Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The particulars of the offence allege that on Friday, September 12, 2025, at #15 George Brook Dwarzark, Western Area, Freetown, the defendant allegedly broke into the dwelling of James Tommy Beah. He is accused of stealing one Apple AirPod valued at Le2,400 and Le15,000 in cash, bringing the total value of the stolen property to Le17,900.
The defendant did not enter a plea, as the matter is currently at the stage of a preliminary investigation.
Prosecutor Detective Police Constable Thoronka K.K. requested a short adjournment to prepare to present the prosecution's witness.
Counsel for the defendant renewed and adopted his previous application for bail on behalf of Fofanah.
Magistrate Fornah subsequently granted bail to the accused in the amount of Le20,000, with one surety in a like sum. The surety is required to be a resident of Freetown and must present a valid identity card displaying their residential address. The bail was approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
