Tripartite Summit: Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia Commit to Peaceful Border Resolution

The Heads of State of Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia have formally pledged to resolve outstanding border disputes through peaceful diplomatic channels. This commitment followed a high-level Tripartite Summit convened in Conakry, aimed at ensuring long-term stability across their shared frontiers.

The summit, attended by Presidents Julius Maada Bio, Mamady Doumbouya, and Joseph Boakai, served as a critical platform for addressing recent regional tensions through constructive dialogue and bilateral cooperation.

Upon the conclusion of the proceedings, the leaders ratified a coordinated framework for dispute resolution, grounded in the principles of international law and regional protocols. The joint communique reaffirmed their steadfast dedication to national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the maintenance of peaceful coexistence.

In a subsequent official statement, President Bio commended his counterparts for their transparency and professional camaraderie. He emphasized that regional unity remains a fundamental prerequisite for overcoming shared security and developmental challenges.

To ensure the sustainability of these efforts, the leaders resolved to convene a Mano River Union summit within thirty days. This upcoming engagement will focus on revitalizing institutional frameworks and intensifying cooperation on regional peace, security, and economic integration.

This diplomatic milestone underscores a renewed strategic alignment among the three neighboring states, signaling a proactive transition toward amicable conflict resolution and enhanced regional integration.
