Wellington People FC have successfully qualified for the subsequent phase of the WAFA 2025/2026 Division One Regional Super Ten Playoffs. The advancement was secured through a 4-3 penalty shootout victory against FC Kallon Jnr at the Approved School Field on Friday.


The match concluded with a 1-1 draw in regulation time, characterized by high-level competition from both sides. Following a scoreless first half, both teams maintained disciplined defensive structures despite consistent offensive pressure.


FC Kallon Jnr established an initial lead in the 63rd minute, necessitating a strategic response from Wellington People FC. The team maintained offensive pressure as the match approached its conclusion.


The equalizer was converted in the 89th minute by winger Boblyn Caulker. This critical goal restored parity and shifted the momentum in favor of Wellington People FC in the final moments of the game.


The encounter proceeded to a penalty shootout to determine the winner. Goalkeeper Alimamy Kamara played a decisive role, recording two key saves to secure the 4-3 victory for his side.


This performance reflects the professional resilience and tactical preparation instilled by Head Coach Mustapha Sama, also known as Pa Saffa.


Following this successful qualification, Wellington People FC will focus on the upcoming national playoffs as they continue their pursuit of promotion to the Leone Rock Premier League.
