WFP Hands Over Seven Motorbikes to Agriculture Ministry in Pujehun

The World Food Programme (WFP), under the European Union-supported Saving Project, has handed over seven brand-new motorbikes to staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) in Pujehun District to strengthen field monitoring and the implementation of agricultural activities.
The handover ceremony took place on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the ministry’s district office in Pujehun.
The motorbikes are expected to improve the mobility of ministry staff, enabling them to reach farming communities and project sites more efficiently to conduct monitoring, supervision, and provide technical support for agricultural activities across the district.
The support forms part of WFP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen agricultural development and improve the effective implementation of development projects in Pujehun District.
The provision of the motorbikes is also expected to enhance the ministry’s capacity to supervise field activities, monitor project progress, and provide timely support to farming communities.
The initiative highlights collaboration between development partners and the Government of Sierra Leone in supporting sustainable agricultural development and improving livelihoods in rural communities.
