Women’s Elite League Week 12 Delivers 19 Goals as Title Race Intensifies

The second phase of the Women’s Elite League has kicked off with renewed intensity, as clubs bolster their squads in a determined chase for the championship while others battle desperately to escape relegation.
Week Twelve delivered thrilling action across six venues nationwide, highlighting the growing competitiveness of the league. New signings made immediate impacts, title contenders reinforced their credentials, and teams fighting for survival showed resilience in tightly contested fixtures.
A total of 19 goals were scored in six matches, accompanied by 11 assists. Referees issued 14 yellow cards and one red card, underlining the fierce and competitive nature of the encounters.
Defending champions Ram K Female FC produced one of the most dominant performances of the week with a resounding 6–0 victory over Vem Buck. Nency Kourouma and Salamatu J. Kamara each netted two goals, while Mariama Sembu and Fatoumata Y. Samura added to the tally. Samura stood out with a composed midfield display, contributing a goal and an assist.
In a highly anticipated derby, SLE Police Female FC secured a 2–0 win over Ascentonians, thanks to goals from Sarah Sesay and Abibatu D. Bangura.
Kallon Female FC staged a strong comeback to defeat Malema Queens 3–1, keeping their ambitions alive in the second phase. League leaders Mogbwemo Queens maintained their position at the summit with a narrow but crucial 1–0 victory over Rising Queens.
Elsewhere, Kahunla Queens cruised to a commanding 6–0 triumph against Patricia Humu, while Koya Queens and Mena Queens settled for a goalless draw in a closely fought encounter.
Week Twelve has reaffirmed that both the race for the title and the struggle to avoid relegation remain wide open, setting the stage for even more drama in the coming weeks of the Women’s Elite League.
