20-Year-Old Remanded Over Le54 Million Theft Allegations

A 20-year-old unemployed man, Amadu Koroma, has been remanded to the male correctional facility at Pademba Road following his court appearance on charges of grand larceny under the 1916 Larceny Act.
Appearing before Magistrate John Manso Fornah, Koroma stands accused of stealing property valued at over 54 million Leones. According to court records, the alleged incident took place on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Thoronka Drive in Leicester Village, located within the Mountain Rural District of the Western Area.
The prosecution alleges that Koroma unlawfully took fifteen empty bottles, a set of white folding chains, a folding table, and several other assorted items belonging to Hajaratu Soko Sesay.
During the court proceedings, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty after the charge was formally read and explained to him. Prosecutor Sergeant Theresa Ballay confirmed to the bench that a copy of the charge sheet and the full case file had been served to the defendant, who acknowledged receipt.
