46-Year-Old Twin Brothers Remanded Over Fatal Stabbing
Two 46-year-old twin brothers charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Mumunie Bah have been remanded in custody following crucial testimony in a Freetown court.
Alhassan Fofanah and Alusine Fofanah appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2 facing charges of conspiracy to murder, murder, and assault.
The charges stem from a violent altercation on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at No. 69A, Back of PWD Quarters in Sumaila Town, which ultimately claimed the life of Mumunie Bah.
During the proceedings, Prosecution Witness Three, Morlai Bangura—a prison officer—detailed how he intervened to disarm the suspects during the brawl and recovered key evidence from the scene.
“All three knives had blood stains on them, and I saw blood on both of the defendants,”
Bangura testified, explaining that he seized three weapons from the accused and another individual involved to prevent further violence.
Although no fatalities occurred immediately at the scene, Bah and several others sustained severe injuries during the violent clash.
Neither defendant entered a plea during the hearing. Magistrate Fornah ordered both brothers remanded in custody and issued a subpoena for the exhibit officer tasked with managing the recovered weapons and evidence.
Lead prosecutor Police Constable Thoranka K.K. confirmed that the investigation remains active as authorities build their case. The prosecution is scheduled to present additional witnesses when proceedings resume on September 21, 2026.
