Abacha City, Port Authority Share Points in Goalless Premier League Clash

Abacha City Football Club and Port Authority FC played out a hard-fought goalless draw in a tightly contested encounter at the Approved Schools playing field.

The match started with Abacha City showing early attacking intent, putting pressure on the visitors and creating the first meaningful chances of the game. However, Port Authority remained resilient in the opening stages, absorbing the pressure and gradually settling into the contest.

After about ten minutes, Port Authority began to find their rhythm, with Joseph Cleverland and Abass Conteh coming close on two separate occasions. Despite their promising efforts, both players were unable to convert, leaving the deadlock intact.

As the first half progressed, Abacha City also carved out notable opportunities but failed to capitalize, with both sides lacking the clinical edge in front of goal. The teams headed into the halftime break level at 0-0.

The second half resumed with renewed intensity from both sides, each determined to break the stalemate. Port Authority made tactical adjustments, introducing two substitutions and switching to an attacking 4-3-3 formation in a bid to gain the upper hand.

Despite the increased urgency and attacking intent, clear-cut chances remained scarce, and both teams continued to struggle with finishing. The match ultimately ended without a goal, reflecting a contest defined more by defensive discipline than attacking efficiency.

Abacha City’s Musa Sesay was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.

Looking ahead, Port Authority FC will host Mighty Blackpool FC on April 4, 2026, while Abacha City FC will travel to face Luawa FC on the same day as Match Week 23 of the Leone Rock Premier League continues.
