Africell Employs 24 Visually Impaired Persons in Telemarketing Centre

On July 28, 2026, Africell officially launched a specialized Telemarketing Centre at the Milton Margai School for the Blind, employing 24 visually impaired professionals. This initiative represents a significant advancement for disability inclusion and economic empowerment in the national workforce.

The program provides sustainable employment for a diverse group of individuals, including university students and graduates. 

Sallieu Turay of the Milton Margai School commended the investment, stating the center proves that "disability is not inability" and demonstrates confidence in the intelligence and resilience of the visually impaired. 

He noted the facility "sets a new standard for corporate inclusion" in Sierra Leone, allowing beneficiaries to earn a living with dignity.

Martison Obeng-Agyei of AfriMoney described the center as a "purpose-driven dream" inspired by Africell Group Chairman Ziad Dalloul’s commitment to the school. 

Emphasizing that "blindness is a condition, not a conclusion," Obeng-Agyei highlighted that vision resides in the mind and called on other organizations to remove barriers to professional success. He explains that the company aims to move beyond traditional charity toward sustainable empowerment.

The launch marks a milestone in recognizing the potential of all citizens to contribute to the country's development.
