APC Reports Peaceful Internal Elections Amid Isolated Falaba Incident

The All People’s Congress (APC) has hailed its internal constituency elections as a success, citing strong voter turnout and a peaceful atmosphere across more than 120 constituencies nationwide.

In an official statement, the party leadership lauded the unity displayed by candidates, framing the elections as a vital milestone for internal cohesion. The party also extended its gratitude to security personnel for their role in maintaining order throughout the voting process.

However, the elections were not entirely without friction. 

Reports have emerged of a localized disruption in Tumania, Falaba District, where voting was temporarily delayed following a tense standoff. According to accounts, former Member of Parliament Hon. Alusine Marrah and a group of delegates refused to vacate a polling center, prompting security forces to intervene to resolve the impasse.

As of the time of publication, neither Hon. Marrah nor the on-site election officials have provided comments regarding the nature of the confrontation.

Despite this isolated incident in Falaba, the APC maintains that the broader electoral exercise proceeded smoothly, reflecting the party's ongoing efforts to strengthen its organizational structure.
