Armed Robbers Fiercely Attack NASSIT South Manager- Bo Town In Fear

Bo City is reeling after unidentified armed robbers launched a brutal attack on Mr. John Lamina, the South Regional Manager of NASSIT, at his residence on 28 August 2025.

The assailants reportedly tortured him mercilessly, leaving him with severe head injuries. He is currently admitted in critical condition at Dr. Yillah Hospital in Bo. It is yet unclear whether he will pull through or succumb to his injuries.

The incident has heightened fears among residents, who say Bo is no longer safe as armed robbers appear to be outpacing the security forces. Despite police efforts, citizens lament that none of the current strategies seem to be working.

They quoted a similar situation of robbery where a woman was shot down in the throat and had to be operated on.

Worse on, the robbers are raping women during their robbing ventures, increasing concerns that even if not resisted during their thieving attempt, they will still process to cause harm which seems to be their aim.

The police however say there is no suspect at the moment but they are working on it.

Community members are urgently calling on the government and security sector to step up and restore confidence, warning that the city is becoming increasingly ungovernable at night.
