Auradicals Club Urges End to UASA Strike
The Auradicals Club at Fourah Bay College has urged the Union of Academic Staff Associations (UASA) to suspend its ongoing industrial strike. In a press release issued today October 26, 2026, the student organization called on the government and relevant ministries to pursue immediate mediation to restore academic continuity across Sierra Leone's public universities.
The club highlighted that prolonged strike actions severely impact students through disrupted academic calendars, financial burdens, and uncertainty surrounding final-year clearances and graduations.
While supporting academic staff's legitimate demands for fair remuneration, the organization emphasized that recurring disputes threaten overall confidence in higher education and appealed to all parties to engage in constructive dialogue.
